LPP from the Air.
On this walk we will explore the gardens and various habitats at Leeds Pond Preserve. We will visit a second growth forest adjacent to the Leed's Pond Stream, a newly planted forest restoration, and then we will walk down to the beach and salt marsh where we will observe diverse plants and waterfowl.
. Encompassing a pond, coastal area, flowing stream, wooded regions, and open meadows, it boasts a rich tapestry of flora and fauna. This diverse natural environment provides an excellent starting point for thorough examinations of nearby ecological ecosystems. Unfortunately, this ecologically diverse landscape has faced challenges due to the presence of invasive species that have competitively displaced native plants, consequently affecting the indigenous wildlife population, including various avian and mammalian species.
